Reported or Disclosed Student Misbehaviour

Purpose 

The purposes of this procedure is to give clarity to all parties involved in the life of the school about what happens when one of those parties reports or discloses information regarding the behaviour of a student or students they regard as inappropriate in light of the values and Christian principles of the school. 

Procedures

Source of Report / Disclosure
This includes, but may not be limited to, the following sources:
  • Student of RNLS
  • Group of students of RNLS
  • Student of another school
  • Peer Mediator of RNLS
  • Member of staff at RNLS
  • Parent(s) or caregiver(s) of a student or students enrolled at RNLS
  • Parent(s) or caregiver(s) of a student or students enrolled at another school

Nature of Report / Disclosure
This includes, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Bullying type behaviours that include repeated intimidation, harassment, physical or emotional or psychological hurt, exclusion from a group or activity
  • Incidents of physical violence
  • Racial comments or harassment
  • Sexual harassment, misconduct, or assault

PROCEDURE

The process (flow diagrame attached) primarily addresses the raising and dealing with issues of student misbehaviour. Separate procedures deal with the daily management of behaviour – refer to primary and secondary discipline plans.
