NCEA National Certificate of Educational Achievement

All students at Rangiora New Life work towards these Certificates in Years 11-13.  The School enjoys superb results, including a 100% pass rate in Level One (Year 11) in 2011.  All students are closely monitored by the Academic Dean across all of their subjects as they work towards achieving the necessary credits for each qualification.

NCEA - Level One

NCEA Level One is the qualification that each Year 11 student, we trust, will aspire to achieve this year.

To qualify for NCEA Level 1, students need to gain a minimum of 80 credits (of which 10 are literacy credits and 10 are numeracy credits).

Most students will have the opportunity to gain more than 80 credits by the end of the year. These credits will be useful for the Level 2 certificate and will help develop a broad educational base for study in Year 12 & 13.

The course descriptions will show you how each subject is organized and structured. You will see which Achievement Standards / Unit Standards and how many credits are available for each subject.

NCEA - Level Two

NCEA Level Two is the qualification that Year 12 students will aspire to achieve.
To qualify for NCEA Level 2, students need to gain 80 credits. A minimum of 60 credits must come from Level 2 studies and the balance may come from Level 1 studies or any higher level.

NCEA - Level Three

NCEA Level Three is the qualification that Year 13 students will aspire to achieve this year.

To qualify for NCEA Level 3, students need to gain 80 credits, 60 of which must come from level 3.
